Rock has faced calls to walk away from his second stint as host in protest at the US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ failure to nominate a single actor from black or ethnic minority backgrounds for the second year running. But ceremony organisers suggests he will, instead, attempt to address the issue on the night.
The 50-year-old comic has kept mostly mum regarding the Oscars lack of diversity, except for tweeting an ad for the Oscars and writing, “The #Oscars. The White BET Awards.”
The 88th Annual Academy Awards will air Feb. 28 at 8:30 ET/5:30 PT on ABC and streamed Live.

DAVIDO SIGNS TO SONY MUSIC
David Adedeji Adeleke, a Nigerian musician and entertainer popularly known as Davido has also signed a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment at its headquarters in New York City.
According to reports, the deal will help him to create, distribute and market his music at world class level. The deal facilitated by Davido’s manager, Kamal Ajoboye was executed by Efe Ogbeni, Nigerian-born American music executive, who is also a partner with Nicki Minaj on Parker Ighile‘s project.
Details of the new deal were not made public, but the boss of the music label was Honorable Kings of New-school (HKN). Davido who took to his social media pages to celebrate the deal.
